Hi Everyone! I feel like we have been living in a cave for a few weeks. We haven't had phone or internet until Thursday so we have been completely dependent upon Michael's cell phone which he is often on for work stuff. Anyway, we didn't mean to ignore everyone, it has just been tricky to do much communication.
It would take pages and pages to sum up the passed two weeks so I will just give you the nutshell version. If you want a little more comprehensive look I set up a blog today and you can visit that. Here is the link: http://kleinfamily6.blogspot.com/
Michael: Keeping busy setting up a new household and a new office in a new town. Really likes Southlake. It is very convenient and has everything we need right here in town. Was happy the house in Bountiful officially closed on Friday. There is no turning back now. And our records arrived and were read in Sacrament meeting so we are now official members of the Southlake Ward.
Laura: Very overwhelmed with unpacking, but is making progress slowly but surely. Still gets homesick for Bountiful, but is trying to adjust. Visited by the new Relief Society Presidency on Friday. They are really nice and have been very helpful. They brought pizza, rootbeer, and ice cream for floats. Loved having Melanie & Jon and family here for the weekend. Did a little shopping at Grapevine Mills with Melanie. Looks to be a good little shopping haunt.
Hunter: Making lots of friends. There are 16 deacons in our ward (2 others named "Hunter"). The scouting program is incredible. Very organized and they have been terrific at fellowshipping Hunter. He helped pass the sacrament today and seems to be adjusting to the new home. It helped having Spencer here for Friday and Saturday. They went to a Rangers game on Friday and Six Flags on Saturday. Lots of fun, in spite of the heat.
Hannah: Loves the bike path behind our house. Rides her scooter on it every day. Loved hanging with Kristin and hopes to see her again soon. Was invited to go swimming at a new friends house tomorrow. Loves her primary class of 9 GIRLS!!!
Michaela: Loves having a nice big bedroom to play in and loves the tree swing in the backyard. Also making friends and has lots of girls in her primary class.
James: Also made a new friend today named "Ben." He is going swimming there tomorrow (it seems like everyone has a pool.) Loved the Titan at Six Flags and hanging with the big boys.
Robert: Is just as noisy in this Sacrament meeting as he was in Bountiful. Loves nursery. Loves the "red house." Loves Macdonalds.
Gracie: Getting ready for nursery. Wanders around our house like a lost soul. Loves the puppy given to her by a family in our ward (stuffed puppy). She calls him "Ruff." Takes him everywhere. Unfortunately we didn't have it at Grapevine Mills and she found one just like it and thought it was "Ruff." Grace has a death grip, so we bought "Ruff the II." Hopefully two "Ruffs" are better than one.

The First Day of School
On August 25th, the alarm bells went off at 6:00 a.m. as Hunter, Hannah, Michaela and James got up to get ready for their first day of school. By 7:30 a.m., James and Michaela were at the bus stop waiting to be taken to Rockenbaugh Elementary. At 8:00, Hannah and Hunter were boarding the bus. Hannah goes to Eubanks Intermediate School and Hunter attends Dawson Middle School. Certainly, the adjustment to a new school was difficult, but all have done well to make new friends and seem to be enjoying school. Laura and I are so proud of our children!
Hello from Southlake!
That is basically the current skivvy on our family. We will update more as we get settled in. The house is great, but is still full of boxes and bare walls. We are excited to get a little more settled in. It looks to be an interesting new chapter for our family.
Goodbye to Family & Friends and to the "Blue House"
The week of the July 24th was like one big cry fest as we said goodbye to so many family members and dear friends. Each day seemed to be full of "lasts." The last time we would see someone or the last time we would do something. It is never easy to say goodbye. We have so many wonderful memories in Utah and specifically in Bountiful. I still think that it is the best place in world to raise a family. Hopefully we'll be back there someday!
